Any body know where i can get free legal advice about what i should do about something?

there is evidence of physical child abuse of my wifes two children from a previous relationship, and he has custody of them. they had a boot mark on there neck, the school took pictures and called the police, but now there saying, the police and child protective services, say there is not enough evidence to take the kids away from him.anybody know what my wife can do without getting arrested?Any body know where i can get free legal advice about what i should do about something?
Contact the state attorney generals office. I witnessed a CSP of minor and I'm a Federal Agent...if it would not of been for my testimony the offender could of easily walked. You owe it to the children to do everything in your power to lock that SOB up!!Any body know where i can get free legal advice about what i should do about something?
www.allexperts.com
Any lawyer that deals with these kind of cases will give you free advice. Only time they'll charge you is if they take your case and you win. Check it out.
Sorry but untill you have evedence you are stuck maybe if you can get the children to talk then you'll have a slim chance but I am sure that the authorities will keep their eyes out for anything that will be able to prove your aligations esspecialy the school so my advice is if those childeren are being abuse then you nedd to get ready because as soon as they realize that you arent lying and the chilideren are in danger they will bring the children right to you both if they feel it is safe there and they will be taken care of

  • Please help i need buisness advice, about taking on a pub anyone with any advice or knowlege in this area?HELP

I am about to inherit 拢20,000 and i have been trying to think of a good and worthwhile thing to spend it on. i was thinking of puting it down as a deposit on a house but i have no idea whether that would be possible or whether i'd need more money? any ideas on that? However have come up with the idea of taking on a pub so it would be let out to me for around 10,000 and i would be trained and left to my own devices so i would be running it with the help of my boyfriend. I'm only young and dont know much about whether this would be worth it and if i would gain money from it, as i certainly dont want to lose it.This is something i would really love to do but does anyone have any advice/opinions or know anything about this sorta thing and know what i should do?Please help i need buisness advice, about taking on a pub anyone with any advice or knowlege in this area?HELP
Deposit on house is far better idea

Publicans don't last long as a rule

The hours are long and you dont get any praise for the work you do.

The money you invest in a pub when you leave you will lose it all

At least if you invest in bricks %26amp; mortar you have some capital behind you for the future as long as you keep up mortgage repayments. Please help i need buisness advice, about taking on a pub anyone with any advice or knowlege in this area?HELP
Think long and hard about if this is the life for you.. it's fun going to the pub for a night out but the other side of the bar can be a real strain on the body and relationship.. the training isn't so bad so lets just take it you get a license.. then you get your pub.. from then on it is a 365 day a year job with just Christmas day evening off.. its days and nights.. every day often till mid-night.. are you planning on serving food? then you'll be stuck in the kitchen for 7 days a week cooking food from 12 - 3 every day or whatever hours you decide to serve meals.. then you got the cleaning.. fancy cleaning out the toilets after a pub full of men have been enjoying themselves all evening? could you handle the drunks? give it lots of thought!!
Business wise, pubs nearly always make money, if its well run. However, morally and personally you would be responsible for helping create alcoholics, damaging people's health, encouraging and having to deal with under-age drinking, dealing with potential violence and abuse aimed at your staff and customers, unsociable working hours and much more.

I would recommend putting your money into a coffee shop franchise. As profitable as a pub without all the negatives associated with pubs. (listed above). However you lose the sociability of having as many 'regulars' (which many landlords like) as you would get in a pub, but my experience of pub work, is that regulars tend to be depressing alcoholics with nowhere better to go!

Or if you want to keep your current job, and want more security in the long run use it to help buy a house. The bigger your deposit, the lower the monthly mortgage.

And at the end of the day any money your spending is going on yourself, rather than a business that may eventually fail!

    Buy a house!
With my work I deal with pubs daily - most of them are closing down because of the smoking ban. If you lease a pub from one of the breweries you will not make much profit as you will have lots of overheads, most of the people I speak to either work somewhere during the day and run the pub at night or they only earn 拢200 per week wages. You say 拢10,000 for the pub, this would be yearly and then you have stock, electricity, wages, wear and tear, don't jump into it talk to someone who has a lease on a pub and they will tell you the same.

I am having Gastric Bypass in 2 weeks. Any Advice? How about the protien shakes?

I have looked around online and they have protien fruit drinks as well as shakes? Anyone have any knowledge on what is a good option?I am having Gastric Bypass in 2 weeks. Any Advice? How about the protien shakes?
I know two people who have had this procedure. Both like Ensure and Carnation Instant Breakfast.I am having Gastric Bypass in 2 weeks. Any Advice? How about the protien shakes?
Gastric Bypass Surgery /gastrectomy/stomach stapling /lapband (all types of bariatric surgery) is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your obesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her revision surgery for gastric bypass in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

Make sure you plently of water on hand. Water is VERY important after this type surgery. And Make sure all your errands have been run, you wont be going out for some time.
My father and my step father both had this procedure done. I know with my dad he is not aloud to have anything with sugar in it. It makes him extremely sick. He also had to take prenatal vitamins I believe for the 1st few weeks after. I've never heard of taking protein shakes, I was always led to believe those shakes help you gain weight, but I could be wrong. I have noticed with the 2 of them, their appetites are somewhat different. My step dad had this done about 3 years ago and for the most part only eats cottage cheese and mash potatoes. That's all he can really handle without getting sick. Oh, and I forgot to mention ice cream. He originally lost about 90 pounds but has gained about 50 of it back. Now my dad only had this done about 7 months ago and he has already lost alittle over 100 pounds. Neither one can eat fast or they get sick. I know this sounds bad but my dad has told me once you have this surgery, you really do lose your appetite and have no desire to eat. You eat because you have to. The only thing he watches when buying food is to make sure there is no sugar and very low sodium. But after a few months you can pretty much go back to what you used to but you will notice a lot of foods will make you sick. It hard telling you what because everyone I know who has had this done is slightly different. I hope that helps you some.

Can someone give advice about my b*stard of a neighbour (sorry, that's how I feel!)?

I live next door to a very cantankerous oldish man %26amp; ends up arguing with all the neighbours. Anyway, we had some very strong winds in January, which blew down the fence separating both our properties. As it's his side %26amp; his responsibility to mend it, 4 months later he decides he's going to fix it himself. He never approaches anyone about anything he's going to do. He never answers his door, if we need to discuss anything with him, so it's only until I get home from work, that I see what he gets up to in his garden. Long story short, he has dug 4 big holes in the ground to make posts for the new fence %26amp; has decided to dump all the mud from the ground onto my lawn instead of keeping it on his side. He's extremely ignorant %26amp; unapproachable and I don't know what to do. He hasn't even mentioned when he's going to do a new fence and now we've got clumps of soil on our lawn. He's taking his time with the fence %26amp; the 'clumps' have been there for a week now %26amp; I do need to cut the lawn. Can someone give advice about my b*stard of a neighbour (sorry, that's how I feel!)?
just do it the easy way take a rake and a shovel and go move the dirt onto his property , reseed the dead spots that he killed and be done with it. hopefully he will have the fence done soon enough and you can get back to your own life. Can someone give advice about my b*stard of a neighbour (sorry, that's how I feel!)?

How about moving half of it back to his side? Take responsibility for half and give him half back - whether it's all his or not, surely 50:50 cannot cause an argument? Perhaps push a note through his door saying what you've done and why and that you'd appreciate him keeping the mess on his side of the garden? Say if he needs to come into your garden to do any of the work, while you don't mind, you could appreciate him telling you in advance? Good communication, or at least the attempt of it, could help the situation here. Good luck.
Write to him send it recorded keep a copy ask him to move his soil off your property give him a reasonable amount of time say 2 weeks if he doesn't respond seek legal action and take a copy of your original letter to the solicitor/ citizens advice

Good Luck I to had a neighbour from hell but I turned the tables (via my solicitor) and she moved 拢500 well spent.
Could you make use of the soil elsewhere in your garden? if not then I'd explain you need to cut your lawn and the clumps are preventing this. If he doesn't answer his door, I'd put a polite note through his door stating that you intend to mow your lawn at the weekend and that if the clumps are not removed from your property by then you will have no option but to place the spoil back into the holes. Ask him to refrain from dumping this back on your property in future.

Neighbours can be right fu拢ers !
if hes an old man on a pension maybe hecant afford to replace the fence. but growing up next to the neighbours from hell my mother put a fence up on our side of the boundary and then they put one on theirs. so maybe this is what you should do. itll take a foot at the very most of your garden but whats that compared to your privacy and peace of mind. As for the clumps put them back in the holes or on his side. Unfortunately when the neighbours are this old theres no getting through to them. good luck
Buy a cat and teach it to **** on his lawn
Sorry but I think we all have at least one of those. Like they say, living near people is like being in a loveless marriage.
either put it back in the holes or get the spade and throw it around his garden spreading it out. that will pee him off as that will be harder to pick it back up and make his garden full of earth instead of grass. he should hurry up and pick it up and get the message when it rains or he will have his precious garden turned into mud. lol
Here is a bit of advise, send him a letter, keep it cool and stick to the facts, don't, be argumentative or confrontational. Obviously, keep a copy for yourself, Explain that you have tried to communicate with him, but have failed, THEN, end with a threat to seek legal advice, as all other communication has failed. This worked for me. It's cheaper than a solicitors letter, in fact, my solicitor suggested that I do it myself.
Get your shovel and heap it on his side.
place the clumps back in his garden, maybe its a trip to the local councl to let them know? or you could ask if he needs help with the fence and then you never know he may be waiting for help?
My be you should offer to put up the fence for him , it will probably end up saving you money and time, i hate annoying neighbours, i got some too but mine are moving soon thank god, i just hope my next ones are nicer not worse. Good luck with the cantankerous old codger. lol xxx
I would pop a letter through his door advising him that you are considering legal action,The thought of having to fork out for his actions may be enough.

If this dos'ent work send a solicitors letter,if you are in the right you cant lose.
Tip it back in the hole , he'l soon sort it then !!
Get over it! You are making a too big of a deal about clumps of mud. Wow, if I stressed over something as piddly as that I would be a nervous wreck! I would calm down about this situation though. It doesn't seem to be that big of a deal to me. The only thing about the situation that is bad is your neighbor. He needs to handle things better and learn to communicate with all the neighbors about things like this. It would help you all out in the long run and maybe then you wouldn't be stressing over some mud. :P
Why such a big song and dance about a bit of soil . Surely the easiest way of dealing with him is to make him into a friend. Ask him if he would like some help with the fence. If he is oldish he might find it difficult to do on his own. He might just be cantankerous because he is lonely.

I have lived next door to people who were supposedly ';difficult'; and never found them to be so. It all comes down to how you approach them. Some people like to feel important and asking them their advice before you do something (even though you don't need it ) makes them feel that you look up to them and they then tend to be more open to what you are planning to do.

Just being friendly can go a long way to making a neighbour better.

You say hes ignorant and unapproachable but every body is approachable its just finding the right way to approach him. And are you sure hes not deaf.? I am deaf and I always explain this to people as otherwise they think I am an ';ignorant stuck up cow'; that is what one person called me. She apologised once I explained that I simply just hadn't heard her .
While the various suggestions that you write to your neighbour with an ultimatum are undoubtedly the correct formal procedure, I think you must be a bit more pragmatic.

A letter would probably just annoy your neighbour and cause him to become more obnoxious. The legal follow up could be quite costly if you used a solicitor and if further provoked, your neighbour may try to make you life quite miserable. I fear that if you adopt a confrontational approach, your quiet disposition and size 8 frame will not provide adequate back up.

Much as it rankles, I fear that you must instead use charm. Go and see this chap and play the damsel in distress, be really nice and offer to help him finish the fence. It will leave a bad taste in the mouth but it may provide the quickest solution.

    An acquaintance in East London had a problem with a big, aggressive neighbour and after many arguments went to see him and laid the law down. The neighbour was just sarcastic, saying ';What you gonna do about it?';

    The reply was ';Me, nothing but I have 拢500 in my pocket and for that, I know two blokes from Canning Town who will come round here and keep kicking you until I tell them to stop';

Hostilities ceased at once. Sad but that is the only language some people understand.
write him an official letter, take a copy of the letter before you send it , and post it registered post so tehre is a record of you sending it, explaining everything in an official manner and asking for a response from him in writing within so many days or you will be taking legal action.

    * he didnt approach you first to discuss this

    * the dirt he has put onto your lawn needs removing at once

    etc etc etc

and get your camera out now and start taking photos of the fence and the dirt hes dumped on your property and continue to take photos of everything thats hes doin re the fence
i would dump it all back on his side. no more mister nice guy, if he is awkward give him some back. i would then putmy own fence up. 22 meters is the max height allowed and then you can put a trellis on top. run it along side his boundary. you may lose an inch or so but it would be worth it.
    ';He never approaches anyone about anything he's going to do. He never answers his door, if we need to discuss anything with him';

Why should he? It's HIS fence.

Why would he need to discuss anything with you?

Why should he be on your time schedule?

The only valid complaint you have is the dirt on your lawn. Politely tell him that the dirt has to be moved. If he is elderly offer to help him, so that you can go about your business with cutting your lawn.

By the way did he have the fence installed or is it his responsibility because the wind blew the fence on his side of the property line?

    You posted this question

    '; I'm a quiet, shy person and I go to church (I'm a christian - yes one of those!) smile. Seriously though, ';

Your words and attitude don't appear very Christian like.

Trying to obtain advice about my daughter being forced to wear school jumper in searing heat,NO AIR CON!?

teachers not wearing jumpers, daughter forced to. she was asked to put it back on to ask to take it off ! rediculous!Trying to obtain advice about my daughter being forced to wear school jumper in searing heat,NO AIR CON!?
    i am presuming

she knew that she had to ask to take it off

and yet chose to take it off

your objection is to her being asked to put it back on

in order to ask to take it off

    yes?

there's more to this than meets the eye

    me thinks!

    don't sweat the small stuff

there'll be plenty of times when you need to be taken seriously

and this is not one of them

trust me, lighten upTrying to obtain advice about my daughter being forced to wear school jumper in searing heat,NO AIR CON!?
    You are soo right.

    This is ridiculous.

    The heat is terrible here.

If only my sons teachers obsessed with their quality of teaching as much as they do with his uniform.

He has spent weeks with teachers barking at him for even undoing his top button and saying he is not allowed. He comes home drenched in sweat and feeling ill.

Plus the water fountains are not working - can you believe that?

I decided to cut the top button off his shirt so at least he could have it open.

Now they keep yelling at him why his mother hasn't sewn on the button yet.

Why can't his father sew it on anyway? Why me?
First thing to do, is ask the teacher concerned.

If you are not satisfied with the reply, seek a meeting, with the head teacher.

    Still unhappy?

    Sort out the school governors.

After that, your local district councillor.

If all that going through the chain of command is too much trouble, contact the Health and Safety organisation, and get a guidance.

    Then sue, for discrimination.
My daughter's school issues the ';blazer letter'; each summer term saying that the students do not have to wear their blazers if the weather is hot.

I would write to the school and explain that you feel it is not appropriate to require the children to wear the school jumper when the weather is very hot. That your daughter will take off her jumper if she feels too hot, and that if the teacher has an issue with that they must discuss it with you, not your daughter.
    That seems a little extreme.

perhaps you should get in touch with the Deputy Head or Head on Monday and find out why this is the procedure. They should not be told to wear their jumpers unless consented to do otherwise.
Now that sounds like there is a rule that students have to ask permission to take of their jumpers alter uniform and she broke the rule.

Yes it is a silly rule but you probably signed a piece of paper saying she would obey the rules.

Has anyone any advice about the NEBOSH Health & Safety Contruction Certificate?

I am a scaffolder (have been for 12 years) and looking to move into health %26amp; safety. Has anyone any advice they can offer me please, either on this course, or job roles once I have attained it?Has anyone any advice about the NEBOSH Health %26amp; Safety Contruction Certificate?
Well her is a bit of advice for you. I have got my NEBOSH by the way.

We are all used to using a computer for writing everything these days. And we very rarely WRITE much with a pencil or pen any more. But for the NEBOSH exams, you have to be able to write quickly and legibly, and you will develop surprisingly sore hands doing this. It is actually quite strenuous because you have a time limit for the exams of course. So you have to practice writing LEGIBLY and quickly. It's surprising how many people can not do this nowadays.

The courses themselves are fairly straightforward to any one with a bit of common sense who has been in the workplace. All you have to do is retain the information in your head, then spout it out at the exam. There was a wee lassie on our course who was straight from University, who knew NOTHING about any form of work yet sailed through.

Job opportunities, well the North Sea is full of ';scaffies turned safety Officers';. It 's a well worn path . Can't speak about other industries of course. But you don't meet many unemployed safety officers, I know THAT.

Best of luck Mate. And remember, your brain is just another muscle. If you don't use it,. you lose it.Has anyone any advice about the NEBOSH Health %26amp; Safety Contruction Certificate?
Well, your NEBOSH General Certificate in health and safety is your first port of call. If your husband has been in the construction industry for 12 years then I'm sure his built up some good basic health and safety knowledge already. He probably did some courses provided by his employers so it shouldn't be a problem for him. The General Certificate is quite easy but you do need to be a good communicator in writing when it comes to the theory on the course. The exam has three parts, a practical and two theory exams. The practical exam is abut carrying out an inspection in a workplace. Theory exam 1 is about health and safety management, exam 2 is more logical, common sense theoretical paper (and this one is quite easy). The inspection is the best one because you can spot lots of problems, then you have to write down what you found and how you want it corrected. Once he's got this course under his belt he can then apply for jobs. The job is ok but there's a lot of office politics he would have to put up with. Wish him good luck!

==========> What is your advice about dating a virgin?

I am a female, and I am trying to date this guy. He has never had a girlfriend before.

I think that he would be a good boyfriend. I just don't know how to approach the subject of sex and stuff... He is just so sheepish and sweet.

Any advice on how to be a good first girlfriend... and a good ';first'; in general?==========%26gt; What is your advice about dating a virgin?
Treat him the same way you wanted to be treated when you were a virgin. Don't rush him. Don't pressure him. Most importantly, make this a chance to teach him. If his first serious relationship is with a woman who knows what she wants and knows how to get it, he will be ever grateful to you.==========%26gt; What is your advice about dating a virgin?
Sex isn't all there is to a relationship. If you are both of age it will happen naturally.

Be yourself and don't be afraid.
I wound date a virgin, but for you pull him out of his misery and get it on all night long for about 10 seconds each time.
Try to be his first friend, than girlfriend before you become his first lover
wait until he feels comfortable, don't push or rush him into anything.

i'm pretty sure once he's inside of you, he'll know what to do :]
maybe he wants to wait for marriage. don't pressure him. respect what he wants and don't make him feel bad about it :]
It will come up if it is meant to be. He seems like a good guy, so let him make the move if and when he wants.

  • Any advice/tips about travelling around south-east Asia?

In feb me and a mate are flying to Kuala-Lumpa,goin over to Borneo, then to Bangkok then to either Cambodia or Laos(cant decide which) for a 6-week S-E asia stint! I am excited/scared!Main concerns I am a veggie so food is guna be tough, and I'm also scared about getting sick from all the crazy stuff u can get out there! Is this a real prob? Any advice from anyone who has been to any of these places would be fab : )Any advice/tips about travelling around south-east Asia?
I've been to all of the places you mention. I never had any problems with food (but, I'm not a veggie so I never thought about that aspect), but generally

    - drink only bottled water

    - avoid seafood

    - enjoy yourself

Western Malaysia is great (real jungle) and I really enjoyed the friendly people in Laos.Any advice/tips about travelling around south-east Asia?
I travelled Thailand and Malaysia and veggie food was no problem for me.

Soups will always be meat stock even if it is a vegetable soup (in regular restaurants that is)

Look out for Chinese Buddhist vegetarian restaurants - they have great food.

I never once got sick (in several years) and ate street food wherever I could.

Don't worry - you will be fine, and you are going to have a fantastic time.

Make sure you visit Wat Po in Bangkok it is awesome (but wear long sleeves and trousers/skirt and go really really in the morning to avoid the hordes)

Lonely Planet guides helped me find lots of out of the way vegetarian places.
Veggie food is real good in Thailand. Why not stop over in Bangkok or Chiang Mai? Anyway, I know veggie is not hard to find in those countries you mentioned.
don't carry someone else's teddy bears

    don't say ';I'm a friend of Gary Glitter';

shave your heads first, to save the prison warders the bother.
check out Lonely Planet and the Thorn Tree

it is from people who have been there
In KL and Bangkok it wont be a problem to find veggie, there's a lot of restaurant offer veggie meal. In borneo there not much restaurant offer veggie meal, however you can order your own veggie meal..its others culture,so,if you want to go here,be prepared, but most traveler didn't find any problem to mix with the local, food and culture..of course, there'r many differences you'll find.language wont be a problem b'coz most malaysian n thais cn speak english
pack really light, and if you get sick, wash a lemon with bottled water, then slice it in thin slices and eat it, rind and all. That works wonders for almost everything that might ail you. Food will be a treat because there is a large Buddhist population and a lot of influence. If you're strict vegan, you might have problems, simply because you won't always know the language to ask, and the locals might not be accustomed to answering that sort of thing. Leave the fear at home and go with an open mind. People get sick even in the West, so just be smart and enjoy your trip! Bangkok and Malaysia are both really easy for foreigners to adjust to, but Cambodia was full-on. It's a mind-trip, just being surrounded by so much abject poverty...certainly life-changing in a good way, but definitely NOT relaxing. Angkor Wat is definitely worth seeing, but check local conditions before taking a bus there. It took us 9 hours to go 100km when I went. There are ';taxis'; back to Thailand, and I suggest paying the small premium for the front seat,(~25usd from the capital to the border)--much better than 6 people in the backseat of a Toyota Camry:)
Food can be a little bit of a challenge depending on how ';strictly'; you adhere to being a vegetarian. It's easy enough to find meals with just rice/noodles and vegetables, but these most often are made in a sauce made from meat, eggs or seafood. If you can live with this, then you wont have any troubles. If this is a problem, then you might have a bit of a challenge to find food without this stuff in it.

People in these vegions, I noticed often dont grasp the concept of vegetarian food, and therefore may say that a dish is vegetarian because it doesnt have any pieces of meat in it, but might still have been made with meat based products. (They arent being dishonest, they just dont understand.)

Illness is not really something to worry about either. Because you're vegetarian, you've already eliminated a big possibility of getting sick: Meat. This is the main way of catching a stomach bug. Other than that, there are a few simple rules to remember with the food:

    - Street food IS safe. And if IS very, very tasty. Just make sure that you buy it from a vendour who is doing a lot of trade. This ensure that the food hasnt sat there for too long, is fresh, and because it's so populat, will probably taste the best.

    - Try and avoid ice in drinks. Often fruit juices sold on the street have ice in them, and this maybe dirty. To be honest, Ive never gotten sick from ice in Asia, BUT that's not to say it doesnt happen. Dont be paranoid about it, but just be aware that it can possibly make you ill.

    - Other than that, you probably will get a bit of a stomach infection within the first 2 weeks or so of being there. This happens to everyone and isnt anything to worry about. Most of the time, it's not caused by bacteria but by your body adjusting to new foods/climate/timezone. Just take it a bit easy and stay well hydrated and it should clear up in a few days. If not, the chemists/pharmacists in Thailand/Cambodia/Laos are brilliant and will be able to give you some anti-biotics that will clear it up really quick. (Dont go for medicine unless it's really bad or you've had it for a few day though, otherwise you may make it worse later.)

Finally, you need to be a little careful of malaria and dengue fever. You probably know that these diseases are really serious and are transmitted by mosquitos. Just be aware that the anti-malarial medicines most doctors prescribe (doxycillin) tends to make a lot of people photosensitive. That means they get sunburnts really, really fast. Not a good thing under the tropical sun. So make sure you put on heaps of sunblock if you're taking anti-malarials. If you decide not to (I dont take them because of the sunburn), make sure you use a good insect repellent and try and wear loose fitting, light coloured long sleeved shirts. You still need to do this even if you DO take the anti-malarials to avoid dengue fever.

Other than that, have an awesome time. S.E Asia is absolutely brilliant. The people are friendly and helpful and you shouldnt have any problems.
I recently returned from a week of backpacking in Brunei %26amp; Sabah - I must say that their food culture isn't really suitable for vegeterians as very few restaurants offered vegeterian menus. Most of the cooks over there use beef stock/chicken stock in their cooking without realising that it's actually meat - so be careful! I would suggest that you stick to upscale restaurants that understand your requests, as I asked for a plate of veggies in a dingy cafe and found out that they cooked it in beef stock anyway. I wouldn't be too worried about sicknesses in Brunei - kitchens are always spotless, even in a street cafe (I think it's part of their religion), however you should always exercise caution in places like Sabah (if you stop over there), where they don't tend to emphasize hygeine much. Anyways I hope you have a lovely holiday over there, those places really are spectacular!
    yes take me with you

Questions about digital cameras, any advice for a beginner?

I'm getting ready to finally make the switch over from a film camera to a digital but I haven't paid much attention to...anything with digital cameras to be honest. Is there a good site I can visit or a book someone can recommend for me to read that will educate me on what a person needs to know before buying a digital camera? Or just any pointers someone can give me? I have had wonderful experiences with Minolta film cameras, has anyone had any experience with the digital cameras, good or bad? Stuck in a rut, any suggestions helpful! Thanks!Questions about digital cameras, any advice for a beginner?

Kodak makes great quality digital cameras that are affordable and easy for beginners to use. Most of them have an optional printer so you can easily make your own prints at home too.

Try www.dpreview.com and www.cnet.com for more information.

All you need is the basics though. Look for 4 megapixels or higher and at least a 3x OPTICAL zoom. ';Digital'; zoom is meaningless, all it does is enlarge pixels.

A camera that uses CF or Compact Flash memory will be the cheapest to buy memory for, but they tend to be bulkier.

Get at least 128 mb of memory, 256 or 512 mb is much better.

Sony, Canon and Fuji also make very good digital cameras. Minolta should be fine as well.

I would NOT recommend buying a digital camera from a company you've never heard of. The quality and customer support could be questionable at best. Don't be wowed by extras you'll probably never use.

My best suggestion for a beginner is to go for an entry to mid-entry level Kodak digital camera. They have great quality and value for your money and are easy to use.
ebay.com has a digital camera buying guide

go to Best Buy or Staples and ask for help looking at them- Walmart staff is usually helpful too

read consumer reviews before you buy and for a beginner you only need 5mp(resolution) and 3x optical zoom(digital zoom is not very good) unless you are planning on printing pictures larger than 8x10

look at type of battery and battery life, look at what type of memory you can use in the camera( SD - secure digital is very popular), look at what type of software comes with camera, make sure camera connects to computer or print with a USB cord, look at LCD screen size(you want bigger to view your pics after you take them)

i just bought myself a Polaroid digi cam at wally world($120) and it has 5mega pixel resolution and 3x optical zoom, 2.5 in LCD screen and great battery life
    About Minolta...

Well, they are out of business. The Konica/ Minolta SLR line has been taken over by Sony, and their first attempt is unremarkable.at best. I don't think there will be any more Konica/Minolta/Sony point %26amp; shoots.

I have had a Polaroid (11 years ago, top resolution was 640x480, and that was smokin' back in its day!) , an Olympus 4mp, liked a lot, a Nikon 4300, daughter is using it now, and a Canon Powershot G6, like a lot. I have a stable full of Nikon and Canon film SLR bodies and lenses, but my next camera will be a nikon DSLR.

Go to www.dpreview.com or www.stevesdigicams to research different cameras by specs, features, and reviews. When you decide on one, the first important thing is to read the manual!

There is a pretty good book, ';Digital Photography for Dummies'; that you might try.

    Good luck!
If you go to Yahoo.com/ and then you go to the little search bar and say I need answers to my camera it should tell you.
It depends on what you want the camera for. Things to consider are size, price, battery life, LCD size, zoom, stability software. Minor things to consider are card (memory) type, sensor, and megapixels.

Decide if you want something small, like a Casio Exslim or Canon Powershot S550. Those can fit in your wallet and pocket easily (but always take care not to bang it around!). If you're a serious photographer and want a digital SLR camera, those are bulkier and cost more. But, if you already have a film SLR camera with lenses, oftenfimes you can use those lenses on a digital SLR if they're the same brand (e.g. Nikon lens on a Nikon film and digital SLR cameras). If you have your own photography company or are the amateur photographer of your crowd of friends, then obviously getting a larger SLR camera would be more impressive. If you're a bit clutzy (I'm not saying that you are ;-) then perhaps something small would be nice.

Some people like having a giant LCD. I personally don't. The LCD is the screen so that you don't have to look in the small rectangle when you're trying to focus your picture. Some people like looking at the LCD instead of the small view finder because it makes photo taking easier. However, using the LCD eats up batteries faster.

Another thing to consider is batteries. Can it use a typical battery that you can pick up at the drug store? This is important to consider when you're going on trips. Some cameras use AA batteries. Some use special lithium ion batteries that require recharing. If you don't have an outlet handy, then maybe a camera that uses AA is better. Of course, you could get a few backup lithium batteries as well, all charged up, so that when the battery in the camera dies, you can put in the new one.

Some people care about the sensor a lot. There are different types. For example, CCDs. Some people care about that sensor the camera uses. The sensor is basically the chip inside the camera that captures the colors, and certain sensors capture colors differently. For example, a certain sensor might capture the blue sky correctly, but the skin tone of the people in the picture would be off.

You might also want to consider type of zoom. In general, optical zoom is better than digital zoom. Some cameras have digital zoom but no optical while some have both. (I'm not sure if some have just optical zoom but no digital). This helps get clearer pictures when you are trying to zoom in on something far away.

Card type (e.g. Secure digital, Compact flash) matters a bit sometimes to some people. Some people like certain card types better. To me, it really doesn't matter because most cameras have a cable that you connect it to in order to get the pictures out of it. Some people like takiing the card out like a floppy disk almost and putting it in a card reader. This consumes less batteries.

Some cameras have built-in stability software. I don't know if this matters to you or not. You've seen the ads on TV where some people are on a motorcycle and trying to take a picture from it. The stability stuff in the camera just makes it so that you can take pictures of or from moving things and have them be still instead of blurry.

Megapixels really doesn't matter much anymore. Most new cameras nowadays are at least 5.1MP. Unless you plan on printing out your own pictures, megapixels won't matter much to you. The more megapixels you have, the bigger you would be able to print out the picture on a piece of paper without having the picture become distorted.

There are many sites to look at for reviews on cameras, but I've pointed out what I consider the most important things to look for. Hope this gives you some things to consider!
All of the major brands have their fans, and I have no doubt that they are all good cameras. The only camera available at the moment that I would stay away from is the Fuji S9500. I bought one and the photos are just not sharp and clear.

Take your time looking, they are getting better and cheaper as time goes by.

Optical zoom is the most important thing, get the most you can for your money.

Digital zoom is a complete waste of time, do not consider this as a factor when buying a camera. Once you have bought a camera, turn digital zoom off.

Get the most megapixels you can for your money.

As a very rough rule of thumb when comparing your final choices in camera, take the number of megapixels and multiply that by the amount of optical zoom. Buy the camera with the highest number.

Try to avoid a camera that uses two 'AA' batteries (except perhaps the Kodaks that can use the CR3 Lithium ion Battery Pack). Get a camera that either uses four, or one with its own dedicated Lithium Ion battery pack. (If you want to keep it for a long time, check the price and availability of replacement batteries. perhaps ebay?)
My, My, My, you sure got a lot of answers. Your first answer believe it or not said it all. Megapixels and optical zoom. You never mentioned how much you plan to spend. Stick to this Website and you're bound to learn alot. You can spend $180 for a camera or $500 depending on megapixels which almost everyone doesn't need a lot of and features plus size. I know nothing about Minolta, but quality would be Canon, Sony, Nikon and Olympus. Look into Nov'06 Consumer Reports.
Don't go all out and buy a 200 or 300 dollar camera at first. I'm a beginner and I got one for 129.99 at K-mart. It's a Samsung and it's really great. Any brand is fine but most people suggest Kodak,HP,Samsung because they're most popular and they work well. Buy the one you like and make sure you can handle it. Also, make sure you buy a case and memory card with it.
To start, unless you figure on doing LARGE professional prints, it is not neccessary to get anything over about 4 megapixels. Also, optical zoom is better than digital zoom. Read the manual with the camera you buy. Most are pretty straight forward.

As an example, mine is a pretty simple setup:

    Kodak EasyShare CD 40 - $80

    4x optical zoom

    4.1 megapixel

Uses two standard AA batteries (I use 2 1800 milliamp NiMn)

    4 pack with charger - $20

At full res (4.1 mega) it will produce a 20';x30'; photo quality print.

I usually turn it down to 2.1 mega.

They want $130 for printer/printer dock for this camera.

    I bought an Epson Stylus CX5000 all-in-one copier/scanner/printer for $80.

It will print 4x6 prints without being hooked up to the computer(the camera plugs right into the printer) and it has card slots for most popular memory cards. Also, it has individual color cartrages so you can replace what you need instead of throwing away half your red and yellow because you are out of cyan. $16 for black cartrage and $12 for each color cartrage.

With this setup you can have your own photo studio for about the price of an 8 megapixel camera. The only thing I would change is I would get a camera that has optical zoom along with digital zoom.

    With
    megapixels %26amp; optical focus
You ned to give more information. I really like Olympus they are great. Did you own an slr or point and shoot. Kodak makes one of the best point and shoot but Olympus is a great slr

What is one piece of advice every straight man and woman should know about gay people?

i would like them all to know that we are not pedophiles/rapists/creeps/etc as a whole. we are all the individual people we work up to be.What is one piece of advice every straight man and woman should know about gay people?
I would like them to know that if they are really straight and secure in the fact that they are straight, they wouldn't be bothered by homosexuals. What is one piece of advice every straight man and woman should know about gay people?
They don't have to instantly make it obvious that they're straight, and start talking about their gf/bf.

    I'm not horny for everybody.

That I'm not out to make them uncomfortable, so if they just get over it it will be fine.

That they don't have to start discussing their opinion on my sexuality.

    -Alika613

Oh, that was more than one piece of advice, wasn't it? Sorry, XD
I would love it if straight men realized that 90% of them are gross, and we'd never think twice of doing anything with them. Talk about self delusion.

But I would like it even more if they understood that we can't become straight -- don't they think that I would have tried a thousand times already while hiding in the closet??

Whateva... Sometimes I feel like being gay is a great filter... it keeps the stupidest members of society at bay.
Common misconceptions that must be corrected include, but are not limited to:

    1) Not all LGBT men want to suck you up.

    2) Not all LGBT people are fem males or butch females, it only seems that way because they are the ones that are obvious. but most actually could not be detected.
Men-great, you have a penis, that doesn't mean that I'm going to ignore the fact that you smell bad and have yellow teeth and rape you while you're not looking....
Gay people are gay. Mind your own business.

That would pretty much end 100% of the conflicts between gay and straight people.
gay men are still REAL MEN

lesbian women are still REAL WOMEN

so cut out those saying that ';be areal men/women'; you are real whatever fashion you are living.
that we do not find every straight person attractive and we dont want to have sex with them n oh yeah...being gay isnt a disease you cant catch it by sitting next to us or talking to us
That they are just as often racists, pedophiles, creeps as straight people.
That we deserve the same respect and rights as everybody else because just like them (believe it or not) we are HUMAN.
That we can love, hate, feel, laugh, cry and bleed like any human.
That just because I'm gay doesn't mean I'm going to hit on you %26amp; that I am the same person I was before I said that I am a lesbian.

    xoxo sweetie
That we don't want sex from EVERY straight person. Theres plenty of gay people for booty calls!! :@)
I'd want them to know that regardless of my sexuality IM THE SAME PERSON AS B4
to get over our sexual orientation.. who really cares?

    were all people right?? :)
That we are still the same person we always were

and we're not all obsessed with sex
that...to all the straight guys....just because im gay doesnt mean i like you.. i mean i have standards lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im thinking about getting a Treo 650 any advice?

I want to buy a Treo 650 PDA off of ebay. Is this a good phone for those of you who have had it.Im thinking about getting a Treo 650 any advice?
    yeah u should get.

    its a great phone.

Im thinking about getting a Treo 650 any advice?
Don't get a Treo 650, they are out dated and have a ton of software issues. I used to work for insurance and even Palm themselves said it's a bad phone. If you are really set on one though go for the 755p or the 690p Centro, they work a lot better and don't have as many problems!

GIRLS need your advice about college dating?

HI, i have a question, i am Just moved from France to US, i am in internation part of university, and i dont have any classes with american students. i am kind of embarrassed about my English, i have kind of British accent and just a little bit of French accent. And i was wondering how easy it is to meet girls when i work for example in something like a bookstore on college campus, thank you, and sory for my english spelingGIRLS need your advice about college dating?
you sound sexyGIRLS need your advice about college dating?
I think that working at a bookstore would be a wonderful way to meet other students. In general, most students will constantly need books, and will be visiting the bookstore quite often. This means that you'll get to meet a bunch of people, and it won't be hard to meet new people. Just don't be shy; get out there, and start conversations.

As for the accent, that's absolutely NOTHING to worry about. I personally find a british/french accent EXTREMELY attractive, and would fall head over heels if I met a guy with an accent like that. Think of it as a plus!
Do not be embarrassed, this is America the melting pot or wonderfully tossed salad, besides we spell words incorrectly here on purpose, just not in school. It should be very easy, just smile and make conversation, you wil be very recognizable because you have an accent. you will have girls all over you just be modest
join social clubs such as international exchange council or other activity clubs =)

  • I Need Some Advice About My College Being Unethical Towards Me?

I'm disabled and my college is trying to prevent me from completing my last semester as a nursing student due to my disabilities. I completed fall semester with a GPA of 4.0. They have been stalling and very unethical in their actions in the past 2 months. Should I fight or let them have there way and look the other way when it comes to rights, justice, and ethics? What do you believe is the right thing to do? Should I fight for what is right? Or should I do what thousands do, and walk away? Thank you.I Need Some Advice About My College Being Unethical Towards Me?
How are they being unethical? Give more info.

So you are a cutter. There might be a questions about the stress of the program causing you to do it again. And of course, they would rather avoid the situation then dealing with it.

You are very close to graduating. Check out the college network. Where I live, the community college is so full, that you have to get a number in a lottery to get in line to sign up for a course. If and your number is too high, you end up taking a semester off so you can sign up for the course the next semester.

So, a lot of students are finishing the program at the college network, they guarantee you pass the NCLEX after taking their exams.

I know this is not what you want, but if you start the program now, you could be an RN before the fall semester begins.

Good Luck!I Need Some Advice About My College Being Unethical Towards Me?
Nursing is one of those occupations where you not only need didactic knowledge but some psycho-motor skills so you can take care of your patients.

If your school has a list of those skills and you must be able to do them to graduate AND if that list was available to you prior to starting the program AND you are unable to do all of those skills, the school has a valid reason not to graduate you.

For example, if they listed the following as required skills to graduate and made the list available to you prior to entering the program:

    Insert an NG tube.

    Start an IV.

    Give an IM shot.

Insert a Foley catheter (Male and female)

    Pass a BLS course

    Pass an ACLS course

    Pass a PALS course

    Pass a NRP course

If you can not do them due to physical handicaps, then they would have a valid reason not to graduate you.

However, you said college and college nursing programs, while very strong on the didactic, are usually weak on the clinical skills. I doubt they had such a requirement in place when you started the program. If the list came up after you entered the program, it could be seen as a deliberate attempt to prevent YOU as an individual from graduating.

You can fight them in one or all of three ways.

First, you can file a criminal complaint against them under the Americans with Disabilities Act or your state anti-discrimination laws. This would not cost you anything and if they have to defend against it in court, it will cost them a bundle. This alone may force them to let you complete your program.

Second, you can go to the press. Depending upon how liberal your local paper is, they may rake the college over the coals. Bad publicity hurts donations. This also may encourage them to let you finish your degree.

Third, if they do kick you out and do not let you graduate, file a multi-million dollar lawsuit against them for denying you your rights. This would be most effective if the first and second approaches did not work because those two will have made it known to them your views on their actions.

    However, one last point, while you should insist on your rights, keep in mind that if you do graduate and get your RN license, one of the questions for licensure is about you having any disabilities that would impact your ability to do the job. If you can not safely or adequately do some of the job, then you should seek a nursing position that you CAN safely do. Psych nursing for example requires much more ';brains'; than it does ';brawn.';
I'm not trying to sound cruel or unsympathetic, but isn't it possible that your disability may actual prevent you from performing the duties of a nurse, and so they have decided to not let you finish? Obviously, if that were the case, it's a horendous mistake on their part to have even let you being the program, let alone get this far.

Assuming your ability in no way shape or form could prohibit you from performing your duties, then yes you should stand up for your rights, and fight to finish your course. If you actually aren't capable of doing what is required of a nurse, then you need to accept it and move on.

Please understand that we are all disabled in some way. Not everyone is able to do everything in this world. I'll never play professional baseball, my friend will never fly a plane, another will never be a teacher. Maybe you'll never be a nurse. That's just the hand you were dealt.

I hope you are able to finish your program, but if not at least accept that it may have been for a good reason that they refused to let you finish. Not knowing what your disability is makes it hard to tell if they were being realistic, or if it was an irrational judgment.
You should fight them to death, otherwise you'll regret it and it'll be too late. Obviously you took nursing because you liked it and are passionate about it. And it is your right to take whatever course your heart desire. So my answer is STICK TO YOUR GUNS
    Try this link...

    http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/adahom1.htm鈥?/a>

It is a link to the US Department of Justice who are the people charged with enforcing the Americans With Disabilities Act.

They list contact numbers and you may be able to get some information and help through them.
How are they ';preventing'; you from completing your last semester?
Exactly how are they preventing your completion?

To your additional information. You want the school to make an exception for you based on a mental illness, and feel you should be accomodated under the Americans with Disabilities Act, when in fact mental wellness is essential to performing your duties as a nurse. If your next semester involves patient care, and it's only been 2 months since your last cutting episode then I feel that they have a valid reason (patient safety) to prevent you from enrolling.

Yes, we need to accomodate persons with physical/mental disabilities, but it does not have to be done at the risk to others.

Not cutting in 60 days is commendable, but it is not a long enough trend to say that you are safe.

Seeking advice from clinical psychologist about clinical psychologist?

Under what circumstances would a professional clinical psychologist disappear without notifying his/her patients for over a month? Aren't there protocols that are supposed to prevent that sort of thing?Seeking advice from clinical psychologist about clinical psychologist?
There should be very few circumstances under which this would occur. The death or illness of the psychologist or some type of crisis in the psychologist's life would be an example. If at all possible, the psychologist would be expected to notify clients - or have someone in her/his office do so. If this is not just a theoretical question - i.e., if this has actually happened, you might consider contacting the psychology licensing board where you live. Every state and province has one - they should be made aware if something like this has occurred.

I need your Advice about child support?

I am not a dead beat parent; It's just that today I got paid and child deducted 90% out of my paycheck; My pay after taxes were $191.00 and child support took out $115.00 Leaving me

with a weekly paycheck of only $76.00

Is there anything I can do to get them to lower my paymentsI need your Advice about child support?
Modify at your CS, that happen to me in 1998 my first born.

    Not exactly the same but

I was part time at yale university but its was and should be against the law to take out 90% of your net pay. If your 200$ a week they should be the ones to receive 76.00 and you get the 115.00

I was getting 115.00 a week when i was part time, for one child, until full time became 95.00 a week / 80.00 a week support payment.

    They cant do that.

Modify with the clerks office in a high (Superior) court or seek where you can make the modifications. Let them know whats going on with you and your expenses.I need your Advice about child support?
Hi, been in your boat too. Child support will take 50% of your pay as support and in Michigan, 15$ per case late charges. It looks like you were hit like me. My support in Michigan can only be changed every 3 yrs. As for all of yours going towards arrearages there maybe a way: Contact in writing your caseworker, and ask for a hearing. If you are in your alloted time to change, get the hearing and all your past income statements and insurance charges. Show all your other bills, the judge will be looking for a oddball payment for a luxury item, If you have one, make sure they understand it is for sale to pay arrearages. That's a start. thats is what I learned. I have 6 kids and 8 years to go. I am not rich, but now everything is stable, and my kids want to visit me all the time! They also call all the time just to chat. Thats whats important to me! Good Luck. LD
What state do you live in?If all of your kids are grown why are you still paying child support?Do you owe back child support payments? Here in Texas when a child reaches the age of 18 the child support stops. If I were you I would definitly look into this matter. If you are making less money now than when you were order to pay child support I would go back to court and let the judge know that you are making less money and the judge should make your payments lower.GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm assuming that you owe arrearages, and I'm also assuming that those arrearages were set when you had a higher paying job. What you need to do is file a motion with the family court to modify child support. You will need to bring 3-4 pay stubs with you, and they will reduce the weekly amount.

    Good Luck.
If you can show your pay has substantial changed and due to things not under your control you are making less money, you could go to court and ask for a lowering of support. But there are many things involved in this and an attorney would need to look at your particular situation to see if yours would be one that could be lowerd.
What state are you in? You can always request that child support be lowered, but, the liklihood of success depends on the state laws.
You are paying child support on your grown adult children? Go to court and get that stopped!
    Get another job.

He likes you, and you are 'falling in love' with him. The only thing that doesn't fit is your nagging voice.

Zodiac signs are meaningless. Go for it.Guys and girls i need advice bad about relationships and dating?
lets see, i have been in this situation before- dont tell a lot of your friends to askk him if he does , if he says he likes youuhh , watch what he does , if he flirts with you , then hes not lying, but if he doesnt show he likes you, hes just saying he likes you because he wants you to be happy.

I need some advice about cd players?

my stereo cd player will not read the cds that i put in there. but i cannot reach the optic because it is a 5 cd player. any suggestions?I need some advice about cd players?
Are they CDs that play in another CD player? Or maybe mp3 CDs that aren't compatible with the CD player in your car? I would test a CD in another player first to make sure it plays before I tried taking the CD player apart.I need some advice about cd players?
Are you trying to clean the lens or something? If that's what you're asking there are optical lens cleaners for CD players. They look like a normal CD but they have these brushes on the bottom to knock the dust and dirt of the lens. Follow the link below.
you can remove the cover then just wipe the lens w/ Qtips, very gently

  • How old do you have to be to go to a gay club? Any advice of what to be careful about? approach people?

I want to go to one because I just turned 18 and I want to meet new friends but I'm a little hesitant since in the movies they just show guys going crazy and I';m not promiscuous. Any good ones in Long Beach, CA?How old do you have to be to go to a gay club? Any advice of what to be careful about? approach people?
NEVER EVER take your eyes off of your drink. Never accept a drink from a stranger unless it is an unopened beer. It is so easy to drop a date rape drug into anyones drink without being seen. You really should not go into a bar by yourself if it is your first time. There are experienced older gay men that know a first timer and know what to do and say to take advantage of him in bad ways. If you meet anyone and have bad feelings, always pay attention to them feelings and use your common sence or you will be used in ways you do not want to be. I'm not trying to scare you but the bars are used for bad people that have bad inttentions. There are some good people that go to bars, but look out for the bad ones. They are out there to take advantage of vunerable people there. Be very careful and keep your eyes open. When I was young I went to bars and was a virgin. One night I think someone dropped something in my drink cause on my way home I felt super tired and pulled over and passed out. My brother found me in my car passed out when I did not show up at home he knew something was wrong. He and a friend went looking for me. I do not remember driving as far as I made it. Just becareful and do not go alone. How old do you have to be to go to a gay club? Any advice of what to be careful about? approach people?
Try to go with some existing friends if possible. It can be intimidating to try to mix and mingle in a place like that all by yourself, it's nice to have some support there.

If what you really want is to make new, positive-influence type gay friends, I would suggest staying away from night clubs. Look for more positive venues like gay bookstores (regular books, NOT porn stores), coffee shops, diners, that sort of thing. I know nothing about Long Beach, but certainly there is a gay neighborhood somewhere around there.
well I really dnt now wat to tell u were in ure erea there are good gay clubs bcuz I dnt live there but yes u can go to a gay club if ure 18 but the most important thing is that wen u go to a gay club almost every 1 is thinking about sex and that's not a good thing. if ure ganna plan on taking some 1 home with u or leaving with some one always carry a condom bcus that person may look physically in good condition bt they could have deases like AID'S HIV many more b very carefull hope this helps. n dnt jjuss wlk in n make out with a guy u just meet he might have herppies lol (seriously)
Sounds like you need to be careful......I think you are expecting something quick........Clubs are different from each other, just check them out with friends and to see whats the atmosphere....be careful from the slutty clubs where its all about booty calls, bound for heartbreak.....I bet theres one of you nice guys out there doing the same as you.......
The gay bars in Long Beach are 21 and up and they do card.

If you're looking for friends try The Center Long Beach on 4th St. It's our local GLBT community center. They have groups for young adults.
For the most part unless they do not serve alcohol you have to be 21 just like any other club and like any other club you have to use your head, there are good people there as well as bad people.
in australia u can drink and enter clubs at 18... but i'm pretty sure it's 21 in the usa
    i think it's 21

I need advice about my mom she is driving me insane.?

My mother and I have never gotten along. She tries to control every aspect of my life, I am 19 years old. She wouldnt allow me to go away to school although that is what i truly wanted to do. She constantly yells and screams at me. She verbally abusing me constantly. I am at the point where i hate being near her. I am afraid that if this continues I will resent her later in life ( although i do already to an extent).I need advice about my mom she is driving me insane.?
If you are 19 years old, then you have the option of leaving home no matter what your mom says. I suggest you do what is necessary to start life on your own, which should allow you to live as you please. That will give your relationship with your mom a break, and you may discover a few things about yourself as well. If you don't like where you live now, it's time to find a place you do like. You might also take some time to consider if something you are doing is actually fueling the fire here. It generally takes to two people to fuel a disagreement. And although she may not be putting things in the best way, you might also consider if there is a valid reason behind what she says. Try ignoring the method of delivery, and focus on the objection she has in a calm manner. If she's basically right, but saying it wrong- attend to fixing the problem so she will have no reason to yell or scream. At the same time though, I suggest working towards life on your own.I need advice about my mom she is driving me insane.?
You are legally allowed to do anything you want, so why did you not go away to school? Are you dependent of her? In other words, do you provide for yourself or does she provide for you? If she provides for you, this might be why she feels she can lord it over you.

One thing is for sure: Don't ever let anyone abuse you, even verbally. Always remember you are a wonderful person, and don't let anyone let you believe differently. Take steps to become as independent as you can (ie: get a job, save money, look for apartments or look for a roommate, etc). Once you can make it on your own, move out. Once you both are out of each others way, your relationship is more than likely to improve.
    well get your mom somehelp

Opinions and advice about living in Jersey City?

Does anyone live or used to live in Jersey City? I'm new to the States and am based in NYC and am thinking to buy.. but don't know area very well.. would also be great if anyone had advice on schools in this areaOpinions and advice about living in Jersey City?
Well, it looks like a lot of the people commenting here don't live in Jersey City. I am from Queens, I have lived in Brooklyn and Manhattan. When rental prices went up in Manhattan back in '97, my husband and I checked out Jersey City. It was a great deal back then is a great deal now. We just recently bought our first home in Jersey City. I work in Manhattan and my commute door to door is only 30 minutes. Living in JC you can take the Path train to NYC so easily. Make sure to find a place near Grove Street, Exchange, Newport stations. The neighborhoods are all pretty different all over JC. JC is huge, I would recommend the downtown area. Take the Path to Grove Street and walk towards the water. There are condos right there at Grove or you can walk and find brownstones. Great restaurants and parks. I can't recommend schools, we don't have any kids. But St Peter's (private) in JC. We love living in JC, there is a lot of cool places. Zip codes to check out 07302, 07310. BTW, Hoboken is very young and crowded, it reminds of a college campus. Good Luck.Opinions and advice about living in Jersey City?
Jersey City is a great place to live if you are looking to work in the city it is just a stones throw away. And housing is half the price on this side of the Bridge. i would steer away from the city's for schools though it is a little rough out there in Hudson and Passiac county.I work as a Mortgage Loan Officer in South Jersey if you need help with a Mortgage let me know..

Zillow.com is a great site for property values and census info.
Stay based in NYC. It might be more pricey, but it's worth it. Center of the universe, baby!

And if you're new here, no way you'll meet anyone in Jersey City. Very suburban and isolated. If you must live in Jersey, Hoboken has a much more City-like scene going on and you're more likely to meet new people -- assuming you're in the post-college or grad school age range.
Jersey city has some okay spots..these ppl obviously are sheltered...you can also try West new york or hoboken..though hoboken is a bit more expensive. If you want to stay in NY , try Williamsburg or Ft Greene in Brooklyn. They are both easy commutes to the city and have alot going on in the neighborhoods.
Are you crazy? was my first thought.

If you value your life, and not being another drive-by statistic, you will not move to Jersey City.
Why would anyone in the US live on the east coast (except for certain parts of Florida) it just always amazes me!
You come to the States and are considering JERSEY? Maybe you should look around first.

Can anyone give me some advice about injecting myself with heparin. I have never done this before.?

I am due to have an ablation next wednesday and currently I am taking warfarin. However before the procedure have to stop the warfarin and inject for four days before. As this falls on a weekend there is no one at the surgery and district nurses are all busy. I am going to have to do this myself. I have been given a rough idea but any extra tips or advice would be gratefully recievedCan anyone give me some advice about injecting myself with heparin. I have never done this before.?
Heparin is usually given subcu (under the skin into the fat layer) in the belly. The needle is usually reasonably long and is inserted all the way to he hilt. As you start to press the plunger, slowly pull the needle out so as to leave a ';bead'; , or line of heparin along the needle path. Be sure that you get it all injected before the needle is completely withdrawn. Can anyone give me some advice about injecting myself with heparin. I have never done this before.?
Heparin can be injected intravenously or subcutaneously (under the skin). Intramuscular injections (into muscle) are avoided because of the potential for forming hematomas.

Because of its short biologic half-life of approximately one hour, heparin must be given frequently or as a continuous infusion. However the use of low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) has allowed once daily dosing, thus not requiring a continuous infusion of the drug. If long-term anticoagulation is required, heparin is often only used to commence anticoagulation therapy until the oral anticoagulant warfarin takes effect.

    ..
The faster you do it, the less it hurts. Don't hesitate once you start. Good luck.
It'll be a sub-cutaneous (just below the skin) shot. You have nothing to worry about. You're not going to hit any major vessels. Do it in your stomach if you're still scared. Don't be surprised if you bruise easily with it, since it's a blood thinner.

Can anyone give me some advice about Mini Doberman Pinchers?

There is no such thing as a mini Doberman. A Doberman is a Doberman. What you are thinking of is a Miniature Pinscher which is a totally seperate breed from the Doberman.Matter of fact the Miniature Pinscher is an older breed then the Doberman.

Miniature Pinschers are very active. They need to be carefully trained and get plenty of exercise. Unless carefully bred they can have health (luxating Patella, seizures, thyroid, heart) issue and temperament issues. Can anyone give me some advice about Mini Doberman Pinchers?
They can be really good dogs to have if they get the right training while they are puppies. Can anyone give me some advice about Mini Doberman Pinchers?
although their only small they think their doberman size and tend to be very full on and can be snappy towards strangers. a firm owner is needed. a little dog with a big big attitude. but can be a teddy bear once you get to no them.
They do not like children. They bark alot. And they are Miniature Pinschers. They are in no form or fashion related to the Doberman Pinschers. The Min Pin was around long before the Doberman. I have one that I adopted and he is great. He gets jealous easily but he loves me so much. I wouldn't trade him for anything.
there are many breeds which look like the doberman pinscher but as for Mini Doberman Pinschers the name may refer to the minature pinscher which is actually the older breed by about 7 years. You could also have a German Pinscher. though they typically are red. I can oly assume that you have a Minature Pinscher. if so they have a tendency to be energetic due in part to the terrier blood in their development. Go to akc.org or ukcdogs.com for breed standards. you can also cantact me for more information on the pinscher at reispinscher@yahoo.com

Can anyone offer advice on a question about sex during pregnancy?

I know they say it's safe to have sex during pregnancy but I worry about having sex in missionary position (man on top) because my husband is laying on top of me. I worry that him pressing on top of me will hurt the baby. Anyone have advice on this? Can anyone offer advice on a question about sex during pregnancy?
Your baby is VERY well protected floating in the amniotic fluid in your uterus. You would have to take a SERIOUS fall to harm the baby. A little pressure from intercourse isn't going to harm baby. If you are physically uncomfortable in that position (which may happen later in the PG) then you just find different positions that work for you.Can anyone offer advice on a question about sex during pregnancy?
If you have a big belly don't let him lay on it.You can try doggy style.Or him behind you while your laying on your side.(like your spooning)That one seems to work the best.
This worried me too especially when it was my first pregnancy, but the truth is that as long as u feel comfortable and no pain, ur baby is fine and well protected in there, u will soon get too big for missionary anyway and i found that lying on my side with hubby behind me and enter that way is gr8 up until birth time!

    Congrats and good luk!
After your first trimester you shouldn't be having sex like that cause then the baby is a bit bigger and you aren't suppose to be laying on your back flat, or having pressure on your stomach, the baby being bigger cuts off blood flow to some major vessels. So if you are past your first trimester it would be safer if you found a different position,
You should not have him on top of you. Get dirty and try some new positions! Lay on your back on the edge of the bed and have him stand up with your legs on his shoulders. You can still be lazy with out him on top of you
it is fine. but u might be more comfy to try doggie style..missionary style will not hurt the baby u will just feel alilttle presure and u might not have orgasm..
I heard this too, and Im glad you asked it. I too had the same question, but I also read somewhere that you cant let them ';finish'; insdie you because it my cause irritation that can lead to contractions?
You will be fine, don't worry. LOL, later it will get in his way so you won't have to worry about it lol. It is very possible to have sex in that position while pregnant. Just tell him to stay off your belly. Congrats!

What advice would you give to someone about making financial decisions?

Make financial decisions with your head, not your heart. Don't change your strategy because of the current financial climate. What advice would you give to someone about making financial decisions?
What kind of decisions are we talking about? Buying a new pair of shoes and investing thousands in the stock market or a new business venture carry different weight.

Either way you have to weigh the pros and cons. It is very easy to get caught in the excitement and hand over the money. There is nothing wrong with taking some time to think about it.

If you are looking to invest in a company do your homework. Do you really understand what they do? Are they creditworthy? What advice would you give to someone about making financial decisions?
Stay as far away as possible unless they're about to invest in a car dealership. If its' some kind of inside information that you may possess, the wealthy do this crap all the time, try to limit it to family members only- not that I ever have but one hears things.
If they are family dont get involved. Talk to them but dont put yourself out there.

I just graduated college and I am thinking about going to work in construction. Any advice?

I just graduated college with a degree in history from a private school on the east coast. I am thinking of going to work for a small construction company, that one day I will be the owner of. The only problem is that I would be starting from the ground up and would be working out in the field on one of the crews. Am I throwing away my degree? Any advice?I just graduated college and I am thinking about going to work in construction. Any advice?
Yes and initially you might be making more but not in the long run. Going into construction is more of a physical type position versus a white collar job that you can get with a degree. It is also seasonal and cyclical so you may not be working for periods of time. If in the future you get injured, you are out of work, there isn't many construction jobs that accommodates people with injuries. Finally, construction work is a line of work that is being flooded by undocumented aliens so the pay scale will most likely go down.I just graduated college and I am thinking about going to work in construction. Any advice?
Go into teaching. Avoid backbreaking labor work. No purpose of a college degree if your going to pick up a nail and a hammer. Pick up a contractors license and become a handyman and specialize in plumbing or electrical work if you still want to do construction. Leave the heavy work to someone else. Even if the housing market slumps and new house aren't built there are still need for people who can fix water pipe leaks and bad electrical wires.

    It's kinda cheesy but:

    ';Sometimes love is a surprise, an instant of recongnition, a sudden gift at a sudden moment that make everything different from then on. Some people will say that's not love, that you can't really love someone you don't know. But I'm not so sure. Love doesn't seem to follow a plan; it's not a series of steps. It can hit with the force of nature-an earthquake, a tidal wave, a storm of wild, relentless energy that is beyond you simple attemps at contol.';
OK, you asked, here’s my soap box speech to all young women. When it comes to dating and men, set you standards high, decide how you want to be treated by a guy and never, ever settle for less. I am so tired of seeing young women treated so badly by the immature males of today (can't call them men). I don't know which is worst; males acting like 12 year old boys or women accepting that kind of treatment from them and thinking it's all right. I'm so tired of hearing girls from their teens to 30ish, after being told by friends and family their boyfriend is a jerk, saying ';oh I know, but I love him';. Remember, you have self-worth and you are to be respected and treated as a person of worth and respect, a woman and a lady; but if you allow a guy to treat you poorly then you forfeit your rights and they are hard to get back. Now keep in mind this does not give you the right to be an all out B*tch and treat guys bad or be overly demanding. What it means, and what I’m suggesting is don’t allow guys to treat you in any manner other then what could be deemed as respectful. Expect and demand that the guys in your life are men – real men. Look around and find some examples of real men and then hold yourself to a higher dating standard. If you do, just think of what you’ll marry. Someone who will actually be there for you, take care of you when needed, provide for you, be true to you and best of all, be part of you. Or just ignore this and stick with the Chris Brown’s of the world. I realize this means less dating and giving up some guys that are fun and cute but the ones you do date, you’ll have such a great experience with.
Live with no apologies. Enjoy your life and hold on tight for the ride; even if its in a busted car with no review mirror and silly rims.

Does anyone can give me advice about chiropractics?

Hi there. I have sufffering of back pain for almost 10 years. I don't like surgery or drugs. My sister in law used to work with a chiropractic and she told me to try it. I just started to go to a chiropractic. he told me I have neck and lower back problems (he took x rays on me and showed me how misaligned I am) The problem is that I cheked that actually these people can hurt rather than help you? can anyone tell me about her/his experience? thank youDoes anyone can give me advice about chiropractics?
Chiropractic is proven to be effective in low back pain. However, you should really make sure that you don't have a condition that chiropractic could make worse.

I have a friend who was having debilitating back pain and she went to a chiropractor. After a few treatments he referred her to a neurosurgeon because there was obviously something that he couldn't treat. Turned out out she needed a Discectomy. She had the surgery and it totally relieved all her pain. The long and short of this story is any reputable chiropractor wouldn't lead you on if they didnt think their therapy would help you or continue treatment if they thought something else was wrong.

I definetely think its worth a try. If it doesn't help just stop going.Does anyone can give me advice about chiropractics?
I worked in a hotel cleaning rooms I started experiencing numbness in my left arm I went to a chiropractic and he took x rays that showed I had a curve in my spin caused by using my right hand more than my left and it caused the muscle to build around my spin after several sessions with the chiropractic I have never had this problem again and my mother has 3 ruptured disc in her back and the only relief is to go to the chiropratic because doctors say they can not do any thing else until the disc severe a nerve.
    Hi lucky

yes this is true it does really hurt and for days after as well, But you will benifit from it in the end. I did
I am pretty sure that what you're hearing about chiropractors making you hurt worse is just a myth. I just recently started going to the chiropractor because I have had some trauma to my neck. I assume that if you got an exam already then your chiropractor has talked to you about a plan for getting your spine stabilized. As far as going to the chiropractor and it hurting worse, my chiro had me come in the first week everyday to kind of shock my system into being aligned. I was sore for a couple of days, but then i just iced it and it was fine. Now I am on my second week of treatment. And don't hurt at all. The chiropractors have certain methods if you're in a lot of pain after their adjustments, and if you find a really good one, then he will be able to adjust this for you. If you stick with the plan that they have set out for you a little pain in the beginning isn't going to hurt. Trust me, it doens't hurt like the pain that you have when your back is out of place. I hope this information helps you.
They can hurt you but a few say they are helpful - how about physical therapy? I tried that and it does help some. I've got lots of back and neck problems. Chiroprators scare me - people die from having their necks cracked the wrong way! Exercising can help!!
Run as far and as fast as you can before they do even more damage to your back.
I have been going to chiropractors for 25 years. Never once have the hurt me or damaged my back in any way. I get fantastic relief from the adjustments. The only adjustment I don't like is the neck, not that it hurts, just hate that grinding sound inside of my head when they do it.
Hey look, do you drive? People get hurt in car accidents, that's just life. But I have never been to a ';BAD'; chiropractor. I think it will help you begin to enjoy your life again.
Chiropractors are awesome for back pain, and neck pain. Did you know if your back is not in line it could cause depression, lack of sleep and other problems. You need to find the best chiropractor for you, because they help a lot. Also you should get a massage because it will assist the muscles to stay in place after chiropractic care.
chiropractics can be good and bad depending in the situation.

having a well aligned back support is great at some point.

some nerves in the back are compressed with the years and bring no symptoms or just regular ones like headaches that we solve by taking overthecounter meds without thinking the underlying problem leading to that symptom is that.

the anatomy with the years adjust itself to the back bone and the way it's position. One little change in it can bring further medical complications.
I got into an automobile accident a couple of years ago and the chiropractor did more harm than good, but some people swear by them. I'd call my primary care physician and see if he can offer any suggestions or call your local hospital and ask for a referral.
