How old do you have to be to go to a gay club? Any advice of what to be careful about? approach people?

I want to go to one because I just turned 18 and I want to meet new friends but I'm a little hesitant since in the movies they just show guys going crazy and I';m not promiscuous. Any good ones in Long Beach, CA?How old do you have to be to go to a gay club? Any advice of what to be careful about? approach people?
NEVER EVER take your eyes off of your drink. Never accept a drink from a stranger unless it is an unopened beer. It is so easy to drop a date rape drug into anyones drink without being seen. You really should not go into a bar by yourself if it is your first time. There are experienced older gay men that know a first timer and know what to do and say to take advantage of him in bad ways. If you meet anyone and have bad feelings, always pay attention to them feelings and use your common sence or you will be used in ways you do not want to be. I'm not trying to scare you but the bars are used for bad people that have bad inttentions. There are some good people that go to bars, but look out for the bad ones. They are out there to take advantage of vunerable people there. Be very careful and keep your eyes open. When I was young I went to bars and was a virgin. One night I think someone dropped something in my drink cause on my way home I felt super tired and pulled over and passed out. My brother found me in my car passed out when I did not show up at home he knew something was wrong. He and a friend went looking for me. I do not remember driving as far as I made it. Try to go with some existing friends if possible. It can be intimidating to try to mix and mingle in a place like that all by yourself, it's nice to have some support there.





If what you really want is to make new, positive-influence type gay friends, I would suggest staying away from night clubs. Look for more positive venues like gay bookstores (regular books, NOT porn stores), coffee shops, diners, that sort of thing. I know nothing about Long Beach, but certainly there is a gay neighborhood somewhere around there.
well I really dnt now wat to tell u were in ure erea there are good gay clubs bcuz I dnt live there but yes u can go to a gay club if ure 18 but the most important thing is that wen u go to a gay club almost every 1 is thinking about sex and that's not a good thing. if ure ganna plan on taking some 1 home with u or leaving with some one always carry a condom bcus that person may look physically in good condition bt they could have deases like AID'S HIV many more b very carefull hope this helps. n dnt jjuss wlk in n make out with a guy u just meet he might have herppies lol (seriously)
Sounds like you need to be careful......I think you are expecting something quick........Clubs are different from each other, just check them out with friends and to see whats the atmosphere....be careful from the slutty clubs where its all about booty calls, bound for heartbreak.....I bet theres one of you nice guys out there doing the same as you.......
The gay bars in Long Beach are 21 and up and they do card.





If you're looking for friends try The Center Long Beach on 4th St. It's our local GLBT community center. They have groups for young adults.
For the most part unless they do not serve alcohol you have to be 21 just like any other club and like any other club you have to use your head, there are good people there as well as bad people.
in australia u can drink and enter clubs at 18... but i'm pretty sure it's 21 in the usa
