They nibble on plastic cage parts, so buy metal %26amp; glass instead. They love to crawl in tubes, so save those empty towel rolls. They love veggies, e.g. spinach leaves, cilantro, carrots, green peppers. They love the hamster chew sticks %26amp; nut roll sticks. They like a water sipper. They love to run around in a small animal ball %26amp; on a spinning wheel in their cage. They get pregnant at about 8 weeks. The mom will eat her young if threatened. The boys don't get along with the girls well. They like fresh bedding weekly. With proper care, a hamster will live about 2 years. What advice can you give me about owning a pet hamster?
males are more easy to make tame and less apt to bite
they are nocternal so will keep you up at night
cant have more than one in a cage or mature ones will kill each otherWhat advice can you give me about owning a pet hamster?
don't, they died too easy
get a really strong air freshener coz the room where you're kkeping it will be really smelly.
give it its own room the little tykes get some speed up on their treadmills at 3.30 am
if you previously owned any other rodents, get rid of the old cage, water bottle, anything that the old one touched. If the new hamster smells any other hamster, it will simply stop eating.
please, buy a cobra if you like any pet.
Don't visit anyone with a pet SNAKE!

find someone with a python
toss in same cage and watch the fun......
Don't put any clothing on top of the cage, if you do the hamster will eat a nice big hole in it! I've actually seen it happen.
Uhhh......take care of it???
Things you need to keep your hamster happy:
Hamster food
Hamster bedding
Hamster house
Hamster wheel
Hamster water bottle
Things you need to keep YOU happy:
a very quite wheel
enough time to clean out the cage weekly
Tips:
don't leave the cage top off or open; loose Hamsters tend to disapear
Don't breed, most hamsters have 8 babies but sometimes they have 20 to 25 (like mine did).
dont let it get loose
I have bought my kid 4 different hamsters and our expierience is that thay are pretty easy to take care of but they are really skidish and they tend to bite, so they are hard to play with. Guinea pigs are better. They have personalities (hamsters don't), they can recognize their owners, they make the cutest sound (called whistling), they're bigger, so it makes them easier to hold and cuddle with. Look up ';cavies'; or ';guinea pigs'; on the web. Tons of info......Good luck!!!!!
takecare it, love it
hamsters r really easy 2 look after but- feeding them some freash food is nice and my hamster likes small dog biscits, cheese + other weird things.so try things out
try 2 give it a viraty of exersize and start tameing it about 4 days after u get it.
