another thing is i leave on the 31st but my contract says i will not begin bct til the 8th of august what do we do in that time and does reception really take that longWhat is the best advice a person can give about boot camp i leave in ten days?

The best advice I can give is the same my Dad gave me.


';God gave you two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for you to listen twice as much as you talk.';


Listen and learn!


The first few days are an orientation to the base, issuance of uniforms, inoculations, etc. These used to be done DURING basic training, now are done prior to training so as to not disrupt the schedule.
Understand a few simple concepts.





1.) Do what you're told, when you're told, how you're told. Don't improvise or anticipate.





2.) Remember basic training's primary goal is to teach you how to be part of a team. You will be punished for the errors of others and they for yours. That is the reality of life in the military.





3.) Another goal of basic is to make you accustomed to living with only that which you need. They will give you the clothes you need and the food you need.





4.) The rest is simple exercise of learning the structure of the military and the physical fitness.





5.) Screw the rest of these people. If you have a chance to volunteer,,,do it.

Best advice- If you have a strong personality and are not easily put down, Taunt the Instructors at every possible turn. If you are like many people and smart, stay in the middle of the pack. Never break away from a large group during a run. BLEND IN!!!

the best advice...remember that basic is 85% mental and 15


% physical and you will be okay.
Best advice: try not to get noticed. Your goal is to be a wallflower.

Keep your mouth shut and never volunteer for anything!
