You can be a vegetarian and still be unhealthy or bigger if you take in more calories than you're supposed to or just eat junk food.

Eat well and work out.

Its not bad, but make sure you're getting all the vitamins and other stuff that you need to be healthy.

and eat lots peanut butter (:Advice about being a vegetarian?
A well-balanced vegetarian diet is healthier for having no meat in it, and quite safe. Despite the myths, it's almost impossible to have too little protein - and moreover most people have way too MUCH protein, especially animal protein, which has been correlated with all sorts of Western diseases - cancer, heart disease etc.

Fresh fruits, vegetables, and especially green leafy vegetables (preferably organic) are the most fantastic, cleansing and energising foods you can eat. Also have nuts and seeds, plant oils, sea vegetables (great source of iron and iodine), and cut down on refined grains, junk food, dairy. As for losing weight, in my experience many people turning vegetarian find that they get closer to their ideal weight. I was quite underweight before making the switch, and have got closer to my ideal.

I recommend this site - www.vnv.org.au - also if you want to find a vegetarian support network in your area, google the word ';vegetarian'; with the name of your area/country.
You can be a vegetarian and be perfectly healthy with just a little planning and knowledge on nutrition. You can become a vegetarian over-night without being unhealthy if you know what you're doing. For instance, the most common complaint non-vegetarians have is vegetarians don't get enough protein; however, this is a misnomer. It's fairly easy to get enough protein as a vegetarian. But to know if you get enough protein, you have to know how much protein to get. The average adult male (weighing around 150 lbs) needs approx. 56 grams of protein. This is fairly easy to obtain.

Here is a great website that has a few simple meals chalked full of protein, along with a lot of great information on protein, protein combinations, and all things vegetarian!

Hope it helps! Good luck being a vegetarian.

You should be careful if you're a vegetarian. You need to make sure you get all your needed vitamins. You should definitely tell your doctor you're vegetarian. They could help you and tell you just what you can eat. Make sure you do a lot of research. You can find almost anything on Google. Make sure to eat good food as well, not only junk. It is good you've had more stamina/energy!
I lost 7kg within the first 2 months of becoming vegetarian and have maintained this weight for a long time. I am a very healthy weight and since being a vegetarian I am lot healthier and happier. You should be fine and congratulations on becoming a vegetarian. ;D

P.S If do start to feel ill, it's best to see a doctor!
I went vegetarian overnight.

Immediately I lost weight ( seems like i dropped 20 lbs in 2 months!) I was more energetic, etc.

If you are trying to loose weight, then cut out the dairy products. They contain tons of fat and calories :-)

At first I did not tell my doctor, she asked how I lost all that weight and then I told her and she was very curious..but not critical at all!
Congratulations! Add Vegetarian Amino Acids Supplement, Protein Powder %26amp; Calcium till you get your balance right.

Happy eating and the best of luck to you.

Peace
