Need advice about cashing a check for someone i know that buys and sells cattle.?

He claims he cant take off from his work to pick up a check from a stockyard where he had some cattle sold. He wants to have the stockyard write the check out to me and then for me to go start an account at a bank,cash it then give the money to him. The check is for a sizeable amount of money. Should I be worried about doing this? Can I get into some kind of trouble doing that?Need advice about cashing a check for someone i know that buys and sells cattle.?
The stockyard should be able to send the check to him and he could put it in the night deposit at the bank if he really needs to. The situation seems kinda sketchy and I would not do it.
