I have to write a poem about the French Revolution; any advice?

I could really use some advice or any ideas you may have. I've never been a very good poet, but I have to write it for my FLVS History course.I have to write a poem about the French Revolution; any advice?
write about being starving, or a certain aspect of someone living in those times.I have to write a poem about the French Revolution; any advice?
I had to write a poem about the Renaissance for my global studies course this past school year, and it had to be Renaissance-like, rhyming with old-English and such. I just looked for synonyms to vocabulary words and until I got rhymes (and found some ';old-English'; words in the Bible, hahaha), and put it together. Like for the topic of humanism, I wrote ';In this the time of our world's rebirth (Renaissance means rebirth, I believe), let's take a moment to see our own worth.'; It'll take some work, but you'll get it eventually :]
i could really write a poem about that, its just so up there...well heres what you do, you need to study the subject then close your eyes...what do you see? Write down what you see in a list, then try to fit the peices together...im not sure if its supposed to rhyme or not but i don't find it nessisary if your words are strong enough

hope i helped
